This heavy sand ore beneficiation solution provides a highly efficient combined process centered on "washing-gravity-magnetic separation" for the mineral characteristics of heavy sand ores (such as ilmenite, rutile, zircon, monazite, etc.). Through multi-stage washing and desliming, graded gravity enrichment and medium-strength magnetic separation, the process realizes efficient recovery and purification of valuable minerals, and significantly reduces the investment and operation costs while ensuring high recovery rate.


I. Process Overview

Heavy sand minerals are characterized by high density and obvious magnetic difference, which are suitable for the combined process of "ore washing pretreatment - gravity enrichment - magnetic separation". This heavy sand ore beneficiation solution removes impurities through washing and screening, and gravity pre-enrichment through spiral chute and shaking table, and then separates magnetic minerals through dry or wet magnetic separation, finally obtaining high-grade concentrate. The system adopts modular design, which can flexibly adjust the flow according to the composition of minerals, and adapt to a variety of deposit types, such as seaside sands, river alluvial sands and so on.


II. Process Introduction

  1. Washing and screening system

    • The raw ore is fed evenly through the silo and enters the rotary scrubber (with high-pressure water spray) to effectively remove clay, fine mud and organic impurities;

    • Optional vibrating screen is available for grading (e.g. +2mm, 2-0.5mm, -0.5mm) to improve the subsequent sorting efficiency.

  2. Gravity enrichment system

    • The washed material enters the spiral chute, utilizing the mineral density difference (e.g. zircon 4.6-4.8 g/cm³, ilmenite 4.5-5.5 g/cm³) for roughing and sweeping, with a recovery rate of more than 80%;

    • The spiral chute concentrate enters the shaking table for selection, which further improves the mineral grade and effectively separates different heavy minerals.

  3. Magnetic Separation System

    • The gravity separation concentrate enters the magnetic separation operation according to the difference in magnetic properties of minerals;

    • Wet or dry magnetic separator is used to separate strong magnetic minerals (e.g. ilmenite, magnetite) from weak magnetic minerals (e.g. monazite, garnet);

    • Non-magnetic products (e.g. zircon, rutile) can be used as final products or go to subsequent further sorting.

  4. Drying system (optional)

    • If you need to obtain dry concentrate, you can configure rotary dryer (80-120 ℃ low-temperature drying), to avoid oxidation of minerals, flexible and adjustable processing capacity.
